Il pane della comunità

La ricetta è quella rigorosa del disciplinare della Camera di Commercio di Milano: materie prima selezionate, tempi di lievitazione lentissimi, tanta passione e pazienza. Un insolito punto di vista sul panettone milanese espresso da un panificatore artigianale, che definisce il dolce tipico del Natale come “pane ricco”.

Dietro le quinte della Scala, uno dei teatri d’opera più importanti al mondo, decine di tecnici, maschere e operai sono al lavoro per il cambio scena fra un atto e l’altro. Alla vigilia della tradizionale "Prima" di Sant'Ambrogio, un modo diverso di raccontare (e omaggiare) il teatro attraverso il lavoro di chi non va in scena, ma è altrettanto importante alla riuscita dello spettacolo.

Il re delle strade di Milano corre sui binari. Il suo nome tecnico è serie 1500 ma tutti lo conoscono come “1928”, dall’anno della sua nascita. Dentro l'officina ATM di via Teodosio, ultimo avamposto industriale nella città del terziario, si rimettono a nuovo le vetture dopo anni di servizio, con la stessa tecnologia meccanica degli anni ’20.

Leonardo da Vinci arrived in Milan for the first time between the spring and summer of 1482. It was a revolution for the Lombard culture. Shades, light, the gestures of Leonardo’s painting imbued the Milanese artists, the engineering projects conquered Ludovico il Moro and the theatre settings entertains the court. A walk to commemorate the cultural vibrancy of Leonardo’s Milan and the relations maintained by the greatest genius with the court and with the Milanese artists.

For five centuries in Milan, a historic building rises in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, and its name maintains the memory of the nobleman, Signor Giacometto di Lucia dell'Atella, to whom the then Duke of Milan, Ludovico il Moro, donated the two original houses nearby in 1490.

The barbarians were pressing on the border of the Alps. Milan was no longer safe and it lost the title of capital in 402 AD. This was the end. The rich palaces crumbled down. The city was depopulated. Misery progressed. Milan recovered only in the Eleventh Century, reaching such a state of well-being to induce Bonvesin da la Riva (poet, columnist and gourmet) to describe its wonders in a book entitled De Magnalibus Mediolani.

This is the oldest civic museum in Milan, the Museum of Natural History, opened for the first time to the public in 1844.
