September begins with the opening of extraordinary exhibition Giotto, l’Italia at Palazzo Reale, a journey throughout the Fourteenth century with the great artist’s masterpieces. Moreover, this week, one of the most exciting festivals is back in Milan! Don’t miss MiTo SettembreMusica, from Friday 5 September, at multiple locations.
And another great music event is back in Milan too… Teatro della Luna features musical Pinocchio, with music&lyrics by Pooh. Casa del Design hosts the 70th edition of Settimana della grafica, with an exhibition and talks about the graphic design industry in Italy. Taiwanese and Milanese cultures meet at Palazzo Bovara, which becomes Casa Taiwan and offers conferences and cooking shows.
Ancient Indian textile art is at the core of Indian Textiles, an elegant exhibition at ExpoGate. And if you still want something exotic, pop in at Fabbrica del Vapore for Contaminafro. Identità in evoluzione, a festival of contemporary African cultures.
For kids, just before going back to school, there are lute-making workshops Le mani sapienti at Castello Sforzesco and Ekeko at MUDEC, or theatre lab Piccole Meraviglie. Finally, to say good-bye to summer, try Gelato Festival in Piazza Castello or Ape nel Parco, happy hours at Parco Sempione with live music. And if you have kids, why not play some rugby together at In campo con mamma e papà? #ExpoinCittà!
